Amazon Games has more online games in the pipeline. Amazon is striving to become a worthy competitor in gaming, even though it has struggled in recent years. Its first real big game, Crucible, launched in May 2020 before returning to a closed beta status later this summer. In October of the same year, the game was essentially canceled and shut down after it was decided the game had no sustainable future. It was a fairly public failure, but Amazon has rebuilt itself with the immensely popular MMOs New World and Lost Ark. Both games were hugely successful and solidified Amazon as a game publisher in its own right.
It looks like Amazon is looking to keep making great games as they’ve signed a deal with Disruptive Games to release a new online multiplayer action-adventure game. The untitled cross-platform game will have cooperative and competitive play with more details at a later date. Amazon Games used the announcement to reaffirm its commitment to gaming, something that was in doubt after reports of how the division was being run surfaced in 2021.
“At Amazon Games, we are focused on developing and publishing high-quality games that foster strong communities and keep people playing for years to come,” said Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games. “We achieve this by creating our own IPs and selectively posting external projects from stellar teams like Disruptive Games. The talented team at Disruptive Games is creating a fresh take on the multiplayer action-adventure genre, with solid game design and rich world-building that we’re excited to help bring to players.
At the moment it is unknown when the new title from Disruptive Games will be released or when we will learn more, but hopefully it won’t be long. Amazon is clearly taking risks by trying to establish new IPs rather than buying off other teams to use their IPs for themselves. So far it seems to be working pretty well, although it took a while to get there.
God of War Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated games of 2022, but the latest PlayStation State of Play was noticeably lacking. Other than a few relatively small details and general updates, Sony hasn’t had any notable updates on God of War Ragnarok for about a year. Fans have been hoping for new gameplay, plot details, and most importantly, a release date for some time. Sony has reassured fans that it’s still slated for 2022, but the lack of news is casting doubt. While it’s not uncommon for games to have long periods of silence while the team is headlong into the project, many feel that the extent of that silence is getting more and more tedious.
The latest PlayStation State of Play featured a number of great games, but it was largely a show all about PlayStation VR titles, some third-party games, and PC ports of the Spider-Man series. It was largely a solid show, but for those who were looking forward to more God of War news, it may be a disappointment. Since Sony hasn’t announced any other state of affairs this summer, many God of War fans are wondering when they’ll actually hear about the game. there’s no way to know for sure until Sony tells us.
God of War Ragnarok is expected to be Sony’s big release for 2022, but they may opt for a shorter release cycle. Aside from a few E3 appearances in previous years, the 2018 God of War game had a short burst of marketing about 3-4 months before the game’s release. Whether or not history will repeat itself remains to be seen, but it worked pretty well for the previous game.
Minecraft fans have a new collaboration DLC to check out, this time based on the Ice Age movie franchise. The DLC includes 30 new skins, including fan favorites like Sid, Manny, Diego, and Ellie. The anime’s latest iteration set the stage for its final climax with its run in Japan, and fans saw Ash Ketchum and Goh come closer than ever to their respective dreams. As Ash prepares to take on some of the world’s toughest coaches in a final tournament, Goh has fought his way through a series of trials in order to join the Project Mew Expedition Team. But the road has been difficult for him so far.

The series’ final episode that aired in Japan featured the final tries to fit into the team in full, and after helping catch Regileki and Regidrago in the tundra of the Galar region, Goh was officially allowed to be one. trainers who can take on the legendary mission. Last year, Activision announced that developer Toys for Bob had become a support studio for the Call of Duty franchise. This led many to assume that Crash was no longer a priority for the publisher, but it seems that might not be the case. During a recent appearance on the Windows Central podcast, insider Jez Corden seemed to accidentally reveal that Toys for Bob will be announcing a new Crash Bandicoot game at Summer Game Fest this month.
