This virtual design studio for levels 6-12 will take place on Thursday, November 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Have you ever wanted to make your own 2D fantasy game? In this course, students will have the opportunity to bring their imaginations to life and create and design their own game. Students will go through the process of character design, level creation, and coding in order to create a game. students will learn to publish their games and share them with family and friends!
Participants will learn:
How to create design characters using Piskel and G Develop
How to program using pseudo-code and the GDevelop IDE
What makes a game engaging
How to publish the games they create
Blaire Bosley’s passion for teaching began in 2013 when she worked as an assistant teacher for Georgia Tech’s Institute for Computing Education (ICE) and for an after school robotics class. In these two positions, she was able to develop her skills in robotics, computer science and design. Currently, as a museum educator at MODA, she has the opportunity to create and teach a variety of courses that allow her to share her passions. In addition to teaching at MODA, she is pursuing a doctorate. in the digital media department at Georgia Tech.
